i love all the invites! once you get all your favorite aspects of each
together, it will look really great. i love the wine color! once again, perfect
for your wine wedding!

sorry you didn't get to go to your dance lesson! let us know how it goes,
we're also thinking about taking lessons since FI has absolutely no
rhythm!

Kelly, NY bride, itsmars, and cantwaittomarry—Thanks so much for your input on the invitations—it's much appreciated! It is definitely really hard to decide on a final design.

NY bride—I love the food at Azul, especially the tapas lunch buffet they have during the week! And you can't beat the view; that's my favorite part about going to Azul!

I had lunch today with the friend I wrote about earlier in my journal who offered to help with the wedding planning. I wanted to ask her about her brother's wedding and her recent trip to Japan, but we ended up yakking about my wedding plans through most of our lunch.  I feel terrible about that; but she seems to genuinely enjoy wedding talk, so I guess it was okay just this once. Next time I see her, though, I really must make it a point to get caught up on her life. Bad bridezilla!

Anyway, I showed my friend the invitation designs, and she had some interesting input. She basically likes the modified design that FI and I put together, but she thinks that the text font is too plain/boring in contrast with the script font used for our names; she said it reminds her of newspaper text. Hmmm, what to do? I don't like most of the fancier text fonts like Dauphin; they're too frilly for me, since I tend to like a very clean, minimalist look. And while I like sans serif fonts in general, they seem a little too much on the informal side for this particular design. Maybe we should try using a small-caps font like Engraver's Gothic? I don't know...

She also brought up a very good point about including the site address on the invitation (some of Katie's designs include the address, some just have the name of the winery). She said that some people will just grab the invitation on their way to a wedding and forget all the inserts; therefore, it's important to make sure the address is listed on the invitation itself. So I need to remember to tell Katie to be sure and add the address. I thought invitations would be relatively simple, but there are so many little details to consider!

Dress delay
Bummer. Elena just called me and asked if I could reschedule my fitting for Sunday instead of tomorrow; but I can't make it on Sunday, so we had to push it back to next Saturday. All this waiting—for the dress, for invitation designs, for ring designs—is really starting to get to me. I do NOT like uncertainty!

I really like the font.  Not too frilly, yet not too simple/modern/minimalist.  I think it goes with the wine theme.  Last thing you want is a font no one can read!  Sorry about the dress but it will be well worth it.  Not to mention the days fly by quickly!

I really like the minimalist font too. I think it is a nice contrast to the script used for your names and by doing so, your names stand out more. I'm sorry to hear that you had to reschedule your dress fitting and are waiting on the invites and ring designs.  I can see how that is frustrating.  But, I am excited to see how all three turn out!!
