Hi Ladies -

I was just wondering if anyone has honeymooned in the Greek Isles.  My FI and I are very active people when it comes to vacationing and not so much the lie on the beach all day types so we're looking for a place to honeymoon that has a bit more activities........

I strongly recommend Santorini, it's very romantic---not sure how active you can be.   I know you can rent a scooter and ride the whole island.

I second Santorini- definitely the most romantic of your options, but if you and your FH are active people, you'll probably get bored if you only stay there.  You can get a ferry pass that will let you island hop- get the kind that will let you go to several different islands.

We are taking a Med. cruise that partially goes through the greek islands.  We found this to be a very active cruise itinerary.  With lots of hiking, ruins to tour and cities to walk.  We are actually going to train for this cruise.  We have a lot of sights to see during 14 days and we want to be strong enough to walk them all!

Good Luck!

YOTM - Are you using a travel agent or booking the trip yourself? FI and I are also wanting to go to the Greek Isles...we are thinking Santorini & Naxos. Santorini because it is so beautiful & Naxos because there are less crowds.

Alwaysabrdsmaid - FI and I are still looking into our options, but if we island hopped we would definately include Santorini, and we were thinking of Crete....plus a few others.  We're still deciding if the Greek Isles is the way to go it's most expensive and crowded in July (when we are planning to go) but it also has more festivals and the night life is at its peak.

It's one of our three options right now......

We'll be there at the end of August!  I can't wait... but we'll be in Mykonos for 4 nights to enjoy the beaches, Santorini 4 nights to do some hiking & watch a few sunsets, Crete (Chania) 5 nights to do a bit of exploring.. Crete has a bit of everything and the Southern part of the island is great for exploring, i hear... then in Athens for 1 night before we fly back.  FI has been doing tons of research and we're narrowing down which hotels we'd like to stay at.. so feel free to ask if you do decide on Greek islands!

alwaysabrdsmaid... i totally wanted to go to Naxos too b/c it's a little less crowded. but maybe we'll take a day trip if we have time. how exciting!!!
