My fiance and I are planning to go to Hawaii (Oahu) for our honeymoon and I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for hotels along Waikiki beach?  I was looking on the Costco website and came across the Waikiki Beach Hotel, Outrigger Reef Hotel, and Outrigger Waikiki Hotel.  Have any of you stayed at either of these?  Any thoughts, suggestions?  Costco has some really great package deals, by the way...for those who might be interested!

Have you tried a travel guide? We arent going to Oahu but are going to Kauai and my FI's parents gave us two Hawaii guides. They rate the hotels and such in the guides and give you a better description of what to expect.

I went to Oahu with my parents several years back and we stayed at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach.  We absolutely loved it.  Our room was great, we had a small balcony and could see the ocean and the pool.  Each morning we'd go downstairs and have breakfast at their restaurant that sat right on the beach.  It was great getting all suited up and just walking out the front of the hotel onto the sand.  I'd definitely recommend staying there!

I went with my sis for graduation a few years back and stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. Is that one of the ones you found? There were so many outrigger hotels. It was really nice -- right on the beach, the rooms were big, and we were upgraded to ocean views!

Ditto on the Outrigger @ Waikiki Beach- fantastic location, we had a wonderful time there!  They had some room, so they upgraded us to an oceanview room since we were on our HM, and we got complimentary champagne as well.  It's definitely in the middle of EVERYTHING, so if you're looking for a little more peace and quiet, this might not be the place- but we certainly enjoyed it!

It's great to hear so many positive reviews of the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. My FI and I changed our wedding location a while back from San Diego to Oahu. The Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is the hotel we decided to stay in for the wedding and part of the honeymoon (off to Maui a few days after the wedding for a honeymoon without guests ).

Nicoledc - FI and I have been to Oahu before and stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki (another nice hotel on the beach). We decided we wanted to stay somewhere different for our wedding/honeymoon. After looking at many hotels we decided on the Outrigger Waikiki on Beach because of location (on the beach and close to a neighboring hotel where many of our family members will be staying & the hotel is on the beach), the hotel amenities (Day Spa, pool, restaurants), the cleanliness of the rooms (reviews I've read), and the view from the rooms is beautiful. I visited this hotel, but didn't stay there.

I suggest looking at (if you haven't already done so) Expedia.com or Pleasant Hawaii's Websites so you can review the pics, prices and amenities of many of the hotels in Oahu. A few hotels that I had referred to me were: Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach (of course I'm Bias ), Sheraton Waikiki, Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa, Turtle Bay Resort (Love this resort because it's on the North Shore side of the island and more exclusive). Hope this helps and sorry for such a long post . Good Luck!
