    Posted: 2/16/2006 at 10:00am

Todd and I are taking a nice little 2 day trip up the Disneyland (we got the 2fer tickets) and want to stay at a hotel near the parks. I checked into staying and the actual hotels and YOWZA. Way expensive. So, I'm thinking about one of the many hotels that line the streets sroounding the parks. Any good experences? Any bad? I want to go a weee better then motel, but less then $150 a night.

So, any ideas?

I have used hotwire for Disneyland a couple times & have gotten good deals (I always stick to 3 stars & above & have never been disappointed with the hotels on hotwire) the bonus is just about every hotel in Anaheim has a D-Land shuttle too. It may just be me, but I always get a little thrill out of the "what hotel will it be?" wait as the screen turns over to reveal your hoitel......

I ran Friday Feb 25-26th 2 nights & I got some good rates..

3 Star $82 & $102 rates available

Cool, my sister reccomended Desert Inn Suites. It's 99 a night and she says they have never done them wrong. I'm jsut worried it's too family oriented. Like, lots of kids screaming and what not.

Oh I know where you're coming from! When I had to go up for work I would avoid the ones right by D Land for that reason. The ones over by Angeles Stadium (Hilton & Doubletree) seemed to have more business people & less kids..

Have you thought about the Ayres Hotels in Orange County?  They are not "right" next to Disneyland, but a few minutes drive.  The ones in Orange and Anaheim are fairly close.  I recommend this chain to family and friends when they visit us in the OC.

ETA: Rooms are typically about $100-$120 per night and they are really cozy and usually comes with a free breakfast.

We ended up getting a room at the Desert Inn Suites, it's right across the street (we didn't want to mess with shuttles) and we got a king room, with a jacuzzi tub, for $99 a night. I'll give a full report.
