Hey all,
Tina has been sneezing for 24 hours, she's sneezed a lot before but now its like 7 times in a row in 15 minute intervals.
The person at the vet says I must bring her in as she might get pneumonia so I booked an appointment for this afternoon but I dont want an unnecessary trip to the vet or unnecessary antibiotics. Anyone had this before? I know she's had upper respiratory infections before and they've not always given antibiotics.
Also, it seems a surpising co-incidence I'm sick too, I was under the impression humans and cats couldnt transfer colds between each other?

She might have something stuck in her nasal passage, like a blade of grass or some other foreign object. I would take her in very soon, that is a long time to be sneezing that often! I'll keep my paws crossed for you!

Oh I would take her in for sure. Is her nose runny as well? Either way, it couldn;t hurt.

I've got an appointment so I'm figuring if I can get her in the carrier then I'll take her to the vet. She's quite strong when she wants to be .
She seems to have a bit of a runny nose and runny eyes so I'll do what I can for the poor thing. She's not been meowing as much either which is not like her.

She might just have a cold. Scrumpet was kinda weezing once, sneezed a couple times, was very lazy and just looked sick. We took him in, they put him on the pink antibotics and it cleared right up!
Now Pewter on the other hand came to us with a lovely stomach bug that has taken two different types of antiobotics to clear up, and it still hasn't! His second dosage will be done on Sunday. If it still hasn't cleared up we will need to take him back in. Poor guy has lost 2 lbs in a month!

I couldnt get her to go in the carrier . How embarrassing . She hid under the bed in the end and I couldnt get her out. Next time I'll wrap her in a towel and make sure to keep the bedroom door shut. She has an appointment today but its looking like she's all better on her own. I was quite enjoying the lack of loud meowing. Andy will be keeping a close eye on her this afternoon to see how she's doing and we'll decide later. Thanks for the advice!
