This journaling stuff is really addicting!!  I hope everyone is enjoying reading as much as I'm enjoying writing!

Here are the shoes that I think are going to be the ones!  They make me so much taller, which is nice when you're only 5'3".  And they have something blue.  I bought flipflops for the reception though.  I want to be comfy while I dance!

The church story:

This was one of the most difficult decisions for us.  I'm Catholic, and FI is Methodist.  My mom and brother are Methodist and my dad and I are Catholic.  Interesting, but it works for us.  We wanted to make sure we incorporated both of our faiths into the wedding, but we didn't know exactly how to do that.  My priest was very understanding, and said that if we did all the classes and premarital stuff according to the Catholic church, and get married in the Methodist church, he would assist and it would all be valid and good.  However, FI doesn't really feel very attached to the actual church building (which is enormous), and I feel pretty attached to my church building.  FI's mom is becoming a pastor, so he started thinking that she could be the one to actually marry us.  I didn't feel comfortable with that.  I can't really explain why not.  I did know that I wanted her to be able to enjoy being a mom at the wedding, without the stress of being the pastor.  We agonized over this decision, because neither one of us wanted the other to sacrifice too much.  We wanted it to be a blend.  It was very, very difficult.

Finally, we decided that we would get married at my church, but his mom would choose a reading and read during the ceremony.  He realized that she should be able to enjoy being a mom, yet she can provide us with her expertise by choosing and reading Scripture.  He also tells me that the building doesn't matter, as long as God and the people we love are there to witness us profess our love for each other.  My cousin, who was my Confirmation sponsor, will also choose and read for us.  I think we came to a good compromise, and I hope he feels the same.  Wow, that's a rough memory to relive.  I'm glad it's taken care of and I hope we never regret our decision.

LoL, congrats on the Senior Member status... I'm only a few away too (yes!).

Love the dress!  One of my best friends got the same dress from DB's and it's SO beautiful.  It's elegant and simple, exactly what I was picturing for me.  That was before I went dress shopping and I was a little envious!  Heheh... I did find my dream dress though.

Cute shoes!  Are they silver?  I'm looking into silver heels also, because I don't think I'll be wearing white heels anywhere else.

Happy holidays!

kme2be-
Pretty dress and very cute shoes. Glad to know that David's isn't all bad.

Thanks for telling the church story. I know that is eventually going to be a tough conversion as well. BF and I were at his church on Friday to see the play "It's a Wonderful Life" and he asks me "So when I officically pop the question, what church do you want to get married at?" We both have very strong ties to our respective churches, so it will be very hard to decide.

Talk to you soon!

sonalid - the shoes are white, but I think I could definitely wear them again during the summer with jeans or a cute skirt.  We'll have to see how comfortable they are.

shan - if you guys get to that point, I will definitely be able to empathize with your struggle.  It wasn't fun, but you'll figure it out.  It will help a little that you're both Methodist.

I booked my makeup today!  I had an appt. with Devra for my brows, and she was still available April 1.  It was very exciting to see my name get written down in her book, but a little scary too.  It's getting more and more real, and I can' t wait!  I've been going to Devra for a while and my MOH has been using her for years, so I felt comfortable booking her w/o a trial.  Now for hair, that's going to be a little tougher.  I don't really want to start paying for trials right now, but I know I need to decide soon!  Sometimes I feel like all I do is hand out cash for this wedding, even though we're getting great deals on almost everything.  Oh well, it has to be done, right?

I'll be back later with pics of BM and FG dresses, and I'll have to remember to talk about our photographer, florist, coordinator, and reception decisions.  I really need to get going so I can get to "real time"!

Thanks for reading everyone!

Congrats on booking your makeup, and good luck with finding someone to do your hair.

You and FI are exactly 100 days from tying the knot!!

Talk to you later.

alwaysabrdsmaid and kaydd - thanks for stopping by!  I love my proposal story, because it sounds like something out of a fairy tale.  I'm so glad you enjoyed it.  Thanks so much for reading my journal!

Here are the bridesmaid dresses from Alfred Angelo.  I ordered them from Karen at RSVP for $35 cheaper than the store, so I'm happy .

They'll be in the eggplant color, which is just a bit darker than the picture (at least on my computer).  I also asked that the girls get the optional spaghetti straps put on them, just to make sure all of them are comfortable, and because I like that look a little more than strapless.

Here is my FG dress!  I absolutely love it, and she is so excited to wear it and "take care of the flowers" at our wedding!  She'll be 4 in June, so she is really into the princess dress up stuff right now.

I got it on Ebay, brand new.  I won't be doing the flower headband thing, though.  She's cute enough on her own!
