There is a little 5 day cruise out of San Diego in Oct. that fits our needs.  I wonder if that is a good or bad time to take a Mexican Riviera trip? It only goes to Ensenada and Cabo and I don't plan on leaving the ship.  Just not sure what the weather is like then.  Don't want any huricanes or such.

I've been to Cabo in October and November and never had a problem, the weather was great.  Also, you'll be on the Pacific side so you should be okay.

We took that exact cruise for our honeymoon and ran into a hurricane! The ship had to turn around and head north. It was rough seas for the last 2 days of the cruise. That being said, though - the year that we took the cruise was an abnormally busy year for hurricanes, so it could have been a fluke....and we still had a great time.

This should be a good time for your cruise. The weather should be pretty good. I went on this cruise myself, it was great. Which cruise line?

I forgot about getting back to Mobb. Sorry.  It's Royal Caribbean . Oct. 16, 2006.  I have been upset about the way RC handled that man's disappearance in Fla. so I don't know if I want to sail with them again.

I don't want to freak you out or brind you down but, a friend of mine took that same cruise last October from here to Catalina and then down to Ensenada and she said that the ocean was really rough and she got really sick and almost everyone else was sick too. One of the guys who works on the cruise told them that it's always like that at that time of year. The boat was huge and should have been stable, but the waters down that way are pretty rough and I think they stay relatively close to shore the whole way down the coast. Just wanted to give you a heads up on that possibility. You might want to talk to someone from the cruiseline to see if it's been a problem. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Oh and Lori - the Fla guy was on a cruise with his wife (may have been honeymoon, not sure) and basically just disappeared. They found blood on the deck and down the side of the ship but it's not clear if he was in a fight and was pushed/killed or whether he was drunk and fell. I think it will probably turn out to be the former. The wife was a suspect for awhile because I don't think her story added up, but that was the last I heard about it. I think it happened like 6 months ago. That's all I know.
