Hey MsSilverios...It was really nice meeting you at the GTG last weekend.  Just want to ket you know that I'm a Eastlake High alum (c/o '97).  I hate to admit this but I was a band nerd.  I was even the drum major.  How geek is that  ?  Anyways...love your engagement story.  I believe it's better when a proposal is intimately shared between you and the person you love.  Well, can't wait to read the rest of your journal.  JOURNAL POWER!!!!

ETA: My bad spelling and grammar.

cantwaittomarry,

Thanks for the compliment! Journaling is so addicting!

happybridesd,

It was great meeting you too, and all the other ladies! You'll find a dress
you love soon enough... I just have O.C.D. in certain areas. If I want
my try on appointment, I'll have to wait till next Tuesday! But it will be
safe there, away from potential disaster at my house. (I'm definately NOT
obsessive-compulsive about keeping my place clean, plus FI would
torment me about peeking.)

meecelin

Yay band geeks! FI was pretty bad, he had this button that said "Bari Saxy"
(he played the bari saxaphone). Haha, we were always jealous of Eastlake
b/c you had fancy things like bathroom doors that locked. So uppity

Done:
  • Abbey Catering booked
  • Karen's Floral Artistry booked

  • Lorraine Kimball booked
  • Engaged encounter... mailed. Waiting
    for confirmation.
  • Dress in!!!!!

To Do:
  • Shirley's cake tasting
  • Look into honeymoon options - Maui vs. Cruise?
  • Make BMs order dresses
  • Work on registries - CAB, BBB
  • Signature Drinks? Me - Mojitos, FI - ? (He would pick Irish Car Bombs if he could)

Hey hey MsSilverios! Great to meet you Sunday and thanks for the shout-out, it was my pleasure. Thanks to EZenick (Ella), too, for starting up that whole thread in the first place.

Yep, I'm booked with Karen's Floral Artistry, too! She was my favorite of the ones I met with -- very down to earth and flexible.

I love reading your journal so far, the elk dung line cracked me up as well. We had parallel experiences last week, funnily enough! FI and I tasted with Twiggs last Tuesday and then Kathy's on Friday (same day as you!). I had the same reaction to the red velvet cake, super tasty but a little scary looking. We also tasted with Hans & Harry's, which was also deeelicious. Seriously, you should try their cakes. I have no idea how we're going to decide. My mom said, "You're only going to taste at three?" and I was like, if we add one more into the mix, I REALLY won't be able to decide!! Anyway, good luck with the planning and I look forward to reading more.

MsSilverios! I was reading your proposal story and saw the Ryan part and saw your picture and then it totally hit me! You're in my dance class!!! Ok, we'll have to chat. It sounds like you're doing great with the planning -- you're way ahead of me. I'm going to book Karen for flowers too and Susan will be doing my photos too. Are you going to do Beyond the Sea for your first dance? We're thinking of using that. I guess I'll have to work on Ryan a little, huh? See you tonight maybe!

kscooby,

The meeting was definetly a huge help. Thanks Ezenick for getting
the whole thing started! I am having such a good time tasting cake. I'm
leaning pretty strongly towards Kathy's, but I've only been 2 places. It's
sad, I'm thinking... "oooo, free top tier, we can eat it on the honeymoon!"
I am such a sugar glutton. Anyway, yeah, I'm indecisive to begin with,
now I have to pick my favorite dessert???? Not gonna come easy.

cordi,

How funny! That's awsome. Ryan mentioned you were getting married. We
won't be making it to class tonight b/c I wasn't sure if the quarter had
ended and made some dinner plans. We'll be back next quarter though,
hope we see you there! Obviously we have a lot to work on. It's funny,
wanting to lindy for the first dance is entirely Ryan's idea, I've never even
done it before. It's the only thing he's really asked for so far in the
planning, so I gotta give it to him. We want to do Beyond the Sea but I'm
sure you two will look waaaay better than us (Ryan: "Oooh yeah.") I finally
had to confess that I had a journal with his picture on it. He think's I'm a
little crazy, but he was cool with it. Anyway, I'm worried with the dance
because you have to bend your knees a bit, and I'm paranoid that he or I
will step on my hem and I'll go flying or the dress will tear. It should be
interesting.

OMG! I have that same fear too! Images run through my head of me stepping on my dress and falling or FI stepping on it  we'll ending up as a big heap of fabric on the floor. I hardly ever dance in skirts or dresses much less one down to my toes in heels! It'll be interesting. You'll be fine. I'll definitely be moving a lot slower and more straight up. With a slower song like Beyond the Sea -- no problem!  BTW, I can't believe you've never taken class before this quarter -- you look great! Definitely let me know if there's anything you want to work on. I love your dress too! Gorgeous!

Hi MsSilverios! I just read through your journal and loved, loved, loved your proposal story. It made me laugh, but also say, how sweet! Mac user, eh? So is my FI (the man has Apple everything) and now I've been converted. We three Macs at home! I often find myself swearing at my work PC now.

Your FI likes Superman? I loooooove Batman. Is your FI a comic book fan like my Steve? FI actually thought about the whole superhero theme for our wedding too, haha. We're still trying to work that out.

Anyways, a belated 'hello' and looking forward to reading more of your journey!
