My FI and I met with 10 before deciding. We are using Trailbrook and they are a wonderful husband and wife team. When you know, you know. Do the research...it's well worth it.

I agree with the other ladies and the advice they have shared. Interviews are important to see if you like the photographer's personality, because you'll spend your wedding day with him/her.  My fiance and I did a LOT of research on the web, and then we scheduled four interviews.  At the interviews we looked through complete albums in order to see the photographer's style and technique for an entire wedding day.  Like MissMelo said, most websites are a compilation of the best photos from many different weddings.  At the end, we were deciding between two photographers.  The item that made the difference for us was our photographer's skill at putting together an album that told the story of a wedding and relayed the emotions of the day.

Have fun with it!

We met with 4 and actually clicked with about 3 of them, but then it just
came down to the quality of their work. Like Calohigirl, we also went with
the most expensive (ack!)
